Stored Tire Set Intake Log
A per-set log sheet that records the identifier, customer, rack position, tread depth, fee, and notes for every tire set your shop takes into storage.
Reviewed for 2026, updated September 8, 2026.
Every dispute in tire storage traces back to something that was not written down at intake. A set that cannot be found, a customer who remembers deeper tread than you handed back, a fee that was never mentioned, all of them start at the counter in the two minutes after the tires come off the car. This log gives those two minutes a fixed shape: one row per set, filled in at the moment the set is tagged and placed, never later from memory.
The columns are the minimum a shop needs to find a set, prove its condition, and bill correctly. Use the set ID on the tag, on the shelf label, and in this log so all three always agree. Record tread depth in 32nds of an inch for each tire position, note any repair, scuff, or DOT date code that matters, and write the fee and whether it was collected. When the program outgrows paper, the same columns map directly onto a spreadsheet or dedicated storage software, and the example rows below show honest placeholders rather than invented customers.
